Secret Restaurant Recipes – Everyone’s Favorite Cookie Recipe?
“Life’s too short, eat cookies.” Ain’t that the truth?! and probably truer to me, having lost my cookie baking daughter several years ago. Her cookies equalled that of any famous restaurant recipes. I confess they were copycat restaurant recipes, but the taste could dupe anybody!
The trick to figuring out top secret restaurant recipes is uncovering that one key ingredient. For example, at my treasured Italian ~ mediterranean ~persian } bistro they serve a ‘Pizookie.’ A huge chocolate chip cookie served piping hot from the oven in a small pizza pan, with big globs of buttery vanilla ice cream! Description sounds to die for on its own …but the cookie! What’s the top secret restaurant recipe?! Steph figured it out ! So, simple but oh so defining ! They add nutmeg to the cookie dough. Just playing around , She discovered ½ t. to be supreme ! And if you crave the taste of eggnog, a smidgen of nutmeg on top of the ice cream further enhances the entire pizookie experience !
Interestingly enough, another local favorite eatery , borrowed that nutmeg idea, and changed up their oatmeal ‘skookie,’ with a little nutmeg. Skookie , pizookie! Identical thing ! Only a skookie is created in a stove top pan . Amazing how one tiny component can be the deal breaker of secret restaurant recipes! It’s kind of like Bob’s Big Boy restaurant’s secret sauce on their hamburgers…Thousand Island Dressing.
Not withstanding , my very favorite, famous restaurant cookie recipe, has got to be the Nieman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookie. Regardless that it’s one of the longest running urban legends, it is one of most circulated secret restaurant recipes to date!
